Who is responsible

Joburgstyle Media House Pty Ltd, trading as JoburgStyle Events & Promotions, Johannesburg, is the responsible party (data controller) for the personal information described here.

What we collect

• Enquiry and application details: name, email, phone, company, city, event or campaign details and your message. Ambassador applicants also confirm they are 18 or older.
• Client portal accounts: email address and login credentials.
• Quote and payment records: amounts, dates and payment references (card details are handled by Paddle, not us).
• Technical data: IP address and device information needed to run and secure the site.

Why we use it, and on what basis

• To respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and deliver bookings — to perform a contract with you, or take steps you asked for.
• To run the client portal and keep it secure, and to prevent fraud — our legitimate interests.
• To keep financial records — our legal obligations.
• To send marketing — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Images of people

We publish identifiable people only with their consent. To request removal of an image, email us.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who host and run our website, database and tools, under confidentiality.
• Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, which processes online orders, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
• Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants.
• Authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries we don't proceed with are kept for up to 2 years. Client, quote and payment records are kept for as long as the law requires (generally 5 years for financial records). After that, information is deleted or anonymised.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections, restricted staff-only access and access controls on our database.

Cookies

We use only essential browser storage needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, object to processing, and withdraw marketing consent at any time, by emailing bookings@joburgstyle.co.za. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
